History
Pathways
to Progress was established in 1998 to provide broad-based citizen
input to the development of the Downtown Core Sub-Area Plan written
by the City of Cheney Planning Department. This plan was written
to address the unique needs of Cheney's historic downtown and to
guide rejuvenation of this area..
Pathways to
Progress formed a board of directors in 1999 and became a Washington
non-profit corporation in October 2000. Since that time, Pathways
to Progress has continued to reorganize according to the National
Trust for Historic Preservations "Main Street" approach
and to broaden its base of community support.
